Lecture on changes in music and the world of design
Host: professor Sabine Sanio, lecturer at the Department of Sound and Sonic Arts of the University of Art in Berlin
Admission: free
One of the assumptions of the MUSIC.DESIGN.FORM festival is to show the conventions of the division into types, genres and styles of artistic expression. Art in the contemporary world is an endless dialogue, both internal – between its genres and external – between the creators and audiences of the works. Some of these issues will be addressed during the lecture “Music and art: performativity in art and aesthetic experiences”. The axis of the lecture will be set by the statement that from the 20th century, art is no longer diversified in any way. Today, the condition of sensual perception and aesthetic experience is present not only in music but in other arts, especially the fine arts. It is a performative process which constitutes the strongest bond between the various fields of art. A new way of looking at music as a performative art, as well as technical possibilities in the field of sound spatialization, changed the understanding of music itself.
